Bring the people you cook with
Your recipe box works without anyone else. Invite the people you cook with to see their cooking in your feed and ask for their recipes. When one of them adds a first recipe of their own, you each get 5 credits.

From a link to 5 credits each
Priya joins through your link and adds her first recipe.
You share your friend link with Priya.
Priya signs up. She is already your friend, and you get an email.
Priya writes up her tofu rice bowl, her first recipe of her own.
You each get 5 credits.
What friends add
Forktales has no public feed and no algorithm filling the gaps. What you see is what your friends post, newest first. Each friend you add brings more plates to ask about and more recipes under Friends in your recipe box.
How to invite someone
Open the Friends screen and share your friend link, or send it to your friend's email. The link works for as many people as you share it with. You can send up to 10 invite emails a day.
The email comes from Forktales under your name. It says what Forktales is, that signing in needs no password and why your friend received it.
They arrive already friends with you
Whoever joins through your link is your friend the moment they finish signing up, with no request to approve. You get an email when they join. Your other friends see in their activity that someone joined through you, and can add them from there.
Earn credits together
When a friend who joined through your invite adds their first recipe of their own, you each get 5 credits. Credits pay for the AI features: a scan of a recipe card, a link read by AI and a nutrition estimate each spend one. Everything else on Forktales is free. Pricing has the details.
Friends of friends
Your circle grows past the people you invite. Forktales can suggest friends of your friends. It never suggests strangers. Anyone can turn off being suggested on their profile.
Keep it to people you know
Invite people you would happily feed. Do not post invite links publicly or sell them. Accounts made just to collect credits break the community guidelines and the terms.
Questions
What counts as a first recipe?
A recipe of their own: written, scanned or imported from a link. A fork of someone else’s recipe does not count.
What if they delete it and add another?
The credits are granted once per person. Deleting the recipe does not take them back, and a second recipe does not pay again.
Is there a limit?
You can earn up to 200 credits from invites in a calendar month. Past that, your friend still gets their 5 and you get none until the next month.
My friend joined before credits existed. Do we get them?
No. Invite credits are for people who joined after credits started.
Where do I see them?
Your activity tells you who earned you the credits, and your balance is on your profile.
