Share your plate. Tell your tale.

Your friends' food, not a stranger's feed.

Forktales is a private cooking log for you and the people you actually eat with. Post what you cooked, ask for the recipe, and keep every dish so you can make it again.

How it works

  1. 1

    Post your plate

One photo and an optional caption. Made it or bought it, at home or out. It takes as long as sending a photo to a friend.

  2. 2

    Friends ask for the recipe

Anyone in your circle can tap “Ask for the recipe” on a dish. You see who asked, and you write it up once.

  3. 3

The recipe lives with the plate

Every time you cook it, every friend’s photo of it, and every rating attaches to the recipe. A friend’s tweak becomes a named variant that hangs off yours.

Built for a circle, not a crowd

Everything in Forktales assumes the people looking are people you know.

Not another recipe site

There are a thousand places to find a recipe. There is nowhere to keep track of what the people around you actually cook, or to ask them how. Forktales is that place, and nothing else.

Questions

Who can see what I post?

Only friends you have accepted. Friendship is mutual and either of you can end it at any time; the moment you do, they lose access to your posts and recipes, and you lose access to theirs.

Is it free?

Yes. Posting is unlimited. A free account keeps up to 25 recipes; if you outgrow that, Forktales Plus is a single one-time purchase that removes the limit. There is no subscription and there are no ads.

Do I need to install an app?

No. Forktales runs in your phone’s browser. Add it to your home screen from Safari or Chrome and it opens like an app, with its own icon.

How do I sign in?

With a link sent to your email, or with your Google account. There is no password to make up or forget.

Can I leave?

Yes. Delete your account from your profile and your posts, recipes, ratings, and friendships are removed. If a friend made their own variant of one of your recipes, their copy stays with them, credited to a deleted user.

Cook something. Post it.

Start with the friends you already trade recipes with. Everyone else can wait.
