What spends a credit
- A scan. Photos, text or both, of one recipe. Several photos of the same recipe spend one credit.
- A link read by AI. When a page has no recipe data, Forktales can read its text with AI instead. The app asks before it spends the credit.
- Nutrition. Working out calories and macros for one serving of a recipe.
Sam joined with 5 credits, scanned three family recipe cards and imported two links from sites that publish recipe data. Sam has 2 credits left: each scan spent one and the links spent none.
A scan that fails or finds no recipe spends nothing. Your balance shows at the top right of the app, on the scan panel, beside the nutrition button and on your profile. When it reaches zero, writing a recipe by hand works as before. Scanning and importing have the details.
If you leave
Credits belong to your account and cannot be moved to another one. When you delete your account, its credits are deleted and nothing is refunded. A Plus subscription is cancelled at the same time, with no refund for the rest of the period. The terms of service cover credits and paid features in full.
Questions
What counts as an AI action?
A scan of a recipe card or page, a link that Forktales reads with AI because the page has no recipe data, and a nutrition estimate. Each is one action. A scan that fails spends nothing.
Is there a limit on Plus?
Plus has a fair-use limit of 300 AI actions a month. Past that, AI actions spend your credits if you have any. With none left, the app tells you the date the month resets.
Can I cancel Plus?
Yes, at any time, from the Plus page in the app. Plus lasts until the end of the period you have paid for and does not renew.
Do I lose my credits if I subscribe?
No. Credits you bought or earned stay on your account. Plus uses its monthly allowance first and your credits only after that.
Do credits expire?
No. Credits from a pack, from joining and from inviting friends stay until you spend them. They cannot be moved to another account. They are deleted if you delete your account.
What if a pack is refunded?
The credits left from that pack are removed. Your balance never goes below zero.
